- Don’t hold your breath; breathe evenly, then count, “3”;
- Continue counting; “4”;
- “5”; “6”; “7”; “8”; “9”; “10”; “11”; up to “12”. This completes one cycle.
- Rest for a few seconds, and begin a new cycle;
- With each new cycle, you will be dropping a number;
- Exhale emptying your abdomen, then inhale filling your abdomen;
- Slowly exhale, emptying your abdomen, and start again with “1”
- Continue breathing, and count only up to 11;
- The next time, count only up to 10;

- “1” to “8”; “1” to “7“;1” to “6”; “1” to “5”; “1” to “4”; “1” to “3”; “1” to “2”;
- and finally, just “1”;
- The total number of breaths should be 78.
Your breathing must be smooth and rhythmic; if you go too fast, your will get less results; if you go too slowly, it is easy to fall asleep. You may practice this method at any time your stomach is not full, or 2 to 3 hours after a meal. You may practice it after the exercise of Concentrating Your Spiritual Energy, or separately at any time during the day.
THE ORIGINAL PRINCIPLE OF “NAM MÔ A DI ĐÀ PHẬT”
“NAM” is Fire; “MÔ” is Air; “A” is Water; “DI” is Expansion; “ĐÀ” is Emanation of Light and Color; “PHẬT” is Inspiration.
- “NAM” is the South Gate of Heaven; “NAM” is the South Bính Đinh Fire, the built-up energy at the point between your eyebrows; these two energies connect and spark brightly.
- “MÔ”: shows the invisible things; when we close our eyes, we can view the scenery from above.
- “A”: Nhâm Quý gathers in the Kidneys; water and energy come together in the spiritual renal water; when the Kidneys don’t function well, you cannot sleep, but when Water and Energy connect, you feel better and sleep well.
- “DI”: represents the 3 precious energies: the Seminal Essence of life, the Vital Breath energy, and Spiritual Energy; these 3 energies fuse together to stabilize you.
- “ĐÀ”: is an aura, a color that covers everything. When you are serene, a spiritual energy in the form of a golden aura radiates throughout our entire body and protects it.
- “PHẬT”: is Recognizing the Serenity inside of ourselves: we must admit our problems so as to repent; we must repent to permit progress toward enlightenment.
INVOKING THE MANTRA “NAM MÔ A DI ĐÀ PHẬT” DURING THE FIRST 6 MONTHS (9:40)
During the first 6 months, concentrate and use your mind to invoke “NAM MÔ A DI ĐÀ PHẬT” so that energy vibrations move into the 6 corresponding chakras of your body.
Curl your tongue up, teeth to teeth, mouth and eyes closed, and invoke each word in your mind:
- “NAM”: when you invoke “NAM,” focus on the center point between your eyebrows;
- “MÔ”: when you invoke “MÔ,” focus on the top of your head;
- “A”: when you invoke “A,” focus on the center point between the two kidneys;
- “DI”: when you invoke “DI,” focus on the center of your chest;
- “ĐÀ”: when you invoke the word “ĐÀ,” the light around your skin shines in serenity;
- “PHẬT”: when you invoke “PHẬT,” focus on the center of your stomach.
Invocation of this mantra is the key to spiritual development: the more you work on it, the more you use it, the more you will grow spiritually.
Invoking “NAM MÔ A DI ĐÀ PHẬT” stimulates vibrations of energy around your body; these vibrations help clear the 5 organs and arteries, and help open the energy center of your head. You can practice this invocation at any time.
PART II. COMPLETE VÔ VI TECHNIQUES FOR USE AFTER 6 MONTHS
After 6 months, you may practice the following techniques in the correct sequence:
- MAKING A SPIRITUAL COMMITMENT;
- CONCENTRATING YOUR SPIRITUAL ENERGY;
- CONTINUOUS BREATHING IN CYCLES WHILE SEATED;
- MEDITATIVE CONTEMPLATION;
- POST-MEDITATION MASSAGE.
It is best to meditate between 11:00pm and 1:00am local time; avoid meditation between 3pm to 9pm.
- MAKING A SPIRITUAL COMMITMENT
- Put your hands together in a prayer position in front of your chest; keep your mind calm; concentrate on the top of your head; use your mind to invoke the following: “NAM MÔ A DI ĐÀ PHẬT; NAM MÔ A DI ĐÀ PHẬT; NAM MÔ A DI ĐÀ PHẬT”

- “I AM (put your name in here, and say this); ‘PLEASE ACCEPT MY SINCERE PROMISE TO PURSUE THE SPIRITUAL PATH TO REACH ENLIGHTENMENT AND LIBERATION OF MY SOUL“
- “FROM NOW ON I WILL STRIVE TO:
- RETURN TO MY TRUE NATURE OF SERENITY,
- RETURN TO MY TRUE NATURE OF SPIRITUAL ENERGY,
- RETURN TO MY TRUE NATURE OF MY DUTIES TOWARD MY FELLOW BEINGS, HEAVEN, AND EARTH.
- “NAM MÔ A DI ĐÀ PHẬT”; MAY PEACE BE WITH ALL CREATURES.”
- Then bow 3 times with your hands; keep your spine straight, not bowing.
Next, exercise Concentrating your Spiritual Energy again, as you did in PART 1.
- CONCENTRATING YOUR SPIRITUAL ENERGY
- Slowly raise your elbows up to the level of your shoulders;
- Use your thumbs to plug your ears;
- Using the tips of your middle fingers, press lightly on the bone at the ends of your eyes;
- Put the tip of your index fingers lightly on your temple at the hair line;
- Fold your middle fingers inside your palms;
- Curl your tongue up to your upper gum, teeth against teeth, mouth closed;
- Close your eyes and focus forward on the middle point between your eyebrows;
- Listen to the energy vibrating up to your head;
- Breathe normally;
- Sit with your back straight.
Now, as your 3rd step, you will be practicing:
- CONTINUOUS BREATHING IN CYCLES
- Put your arms against your sides; put your palms on your thighs;
- Curl your tongue up, teeth against teeth;
- Close your eyes and focus on the center point between your eyebrows;
- Begin by slowly exhaling to empty and flatten your stomach;
- When your stomach is really flat, slowly inhale;
- At the beginning of inhaling, order yourself to, “Fill the navel, fill the chest, up to the head”;
- When you cannot inhale any more, slowly exhale until your stomach is deflated;
- Press to the bottom of your stomach so that all the air is released;
- When you inhale or exhale, keep your chest still; only move your stomach;
- When you finish exhaling, order yourself to, “Fill the navel, fill the chest, up to the head” and inhale again;
Six to 12 breaths are enough for each practice; one breath means 1 inhalation and 1 exhalation; you should not hold your breath. Breathe evenly and steadily.
The 4th step:
- MEDITATIVE CONTEMPLATION
- Your should sit and put your hands in the same position as before.
- Your tongue is curled up, teeth against teeth;
- Close your eyes and focus on the center point between your eyebrows;
- Concentrate on the top of your head;
- Mentally say: “MAY MY SOUL LEAVE MY BODY AND RAISE UP TO BUDDHA” (17:18)
- Pay attention only to the top of your head for a short while;
- Then, after that, focus on the center point between your eyebrows; the more focused, the better;
- Relax, and quiet your mind;
- The longer you sit, the better.
During Meditative Contemplation, if you feel itching or numbness on your feet, or your mind chattering, invoke “NAM MÔ A DI ĐÀ PHẬT” on the top of your head.
SAMADHI MUTRA SEAL (18:00)
Advanced practitioners who feel energy vibrating while practicing Cyclical Breathing or Meditative Contemplation, will automatically put their hands together like this.

- Again, rub your face 3 times;
- Rub your hands to warm them;
- Massage your arms from your shoulders to your forearms;
- Using one hand, squeeze the other from the wrist to the fingertips;
- Do this 3 times;
- Then rub your hands to warm them up;
- Now, massage your other arm, 3 times;
- Rub your hands to warm them;
- With both your hands, massage your legs from top to bottom;
- Press on your big toe, and bend it down.
- Do this 3 times.
- Rub your hands to warm them again;
- Massage the other leg, 3 times;
- Rub the soles of your feet together 50 times.
INVOKING THE MANTRA OF “NAM MÔ A DI ĐÀ PHẬT” AFTER 6 MONTHS.
- After 6 months of invoking the mantra, you should be ready for a change: that is you may feel the energy vibrating at the top of your head or at the center point between your eyebrows;
- When this happens, you should then be able to always invoke the mantra directly at the top of your head;
- Curl your tongue up, teeth against teeth, and, from the center point between your eyebrows, focus in front of you, and breathe normally;
- Mentally invoke the 6 words “NAM MÔ A DI ĐÀ PHẬT” at the top of your head.

- Mentally invoke “NAM MÔ A DI ĐÀ PHẬT”; when invoking these words, the sequence should start at your upper lip with the word “NAM,” and finish at the tip of your nose with the word “PHẬT”;
- Starting now, from the tip of your nose, mentally invoke “NAM MÔ A DI ĐÀ PHẬT” upwards to the 2nd point, which is the center between your eyebrows;
- From here again, mentally invoke “NAM MÔ A DI ĐÀ PHẬT” upwards to the 3rd point, which is the middle of your forehead;
- From there, mentally invoke “NAM MÔ A DI ĐÀ PHẬT”, again upwards to the 4th point, which is half way between your forehead to the top of your head;
- From this point, invoke “NAM MÔ A DI ĐÀ PHẬT” to the 5th point, which is the top of your head;
- From the top of your head, invoke “NAM MÔ A DI ĐÀ PHẬT” downwards to the 6th point, which is half way down the back of your head and opposite the frontal psychic center between your eyebrows;
- From here, invoke “NAM MÔ A DI ĐÀ PHẬT” further downwards to the 7th point, which is at your back between your shoulder blades and your lungs;
- From that point, invoke “NAM MÔ A DI ĐÀ PHẬT” to the 8th point, which is the center point between your kidneys.
Repeat this cycle of invocations 3 times to help energy flow through the 8 Points.
This is a sacred dharma to expel all external negative forces which may be directed at you.
Once your energy is developed, you should feel a current of energy running through all the points on which you have just focused.
